What to Expect Upon Arrival of Your First Session
Check in with your instructor in the lobby and sign required waiver.
The TV monitor in the lobby will inform you which locker room is dedicated to “Learn to Skate”.
Skaters must get ready in the designated locker room, not on the player benches.
What to Bring/Wear
Properly fitted and sharpened skates. Unfortunately, at this time East Bethel Ice Arena or SFYHA does NOT offer rental skates.
Helmet. Required for ALL skaters on the ice. Hockey or bike helmet is fine.
Jacket, gloves and long pants. (Skaters will fall. Snow pants or breezers are recommended).
Long socks that come above the top of the skates to prevent blisters.
Session/Parent Info
The first 30 minutes of each session will be led by the instructors and the last 30 minutes will be open practice time. Parents, you are welcome to assist your skater on the ice throughout the entire session if you choose. Parents on the ice must wear skates, helmet and sign a waiver prior to stepping on the ice. Parents that are not assisting on the ice must watch the session from the stands and are not allowed to sit on the bench. Instructors will assist skaters during the open practice time as needed.
In order to help us prepare for the upcoming session, please respond to this email and include the following information for your skater:
Is this your skaters first time on the ice? If not, what prior experience do they have?
Is your skater interested in playing hockey?
Are there any accommodations or anything you feel we should know ahead of the session?
We look forward to meeting you this weekend and thank you in advance for following the guidelines outlined above. In the meantime, do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. See you at the rink!
Thank you
